You are invited to attend a day conference, which forms part of the Launch of the South East African Climate Consortium (SEACC) in Port Elizabeth.
The founding partners of SEACC are Rhodes University, NMMU, University of Fort Hare, the Sustainable Seas Trust and the Wilderness Foundation.
This partnership provides the academic component of a nexus between academia, government and business to deal with issues of climate change, mitigation and adaptation. Each of these areas will be represented at the conference.

The keynote speaker will be Sir David King, of the Smith School of Environment and Enterprise, Oxford University and Chief Scientific Advisor to the UK Government.
Sir David King is acknowledged globally for his role in helping to place climate change on the agendas of the UK and other European and African governments. Born in South Africa, he is one of the truly respected global voices on climate and international development experience. He works closely with the former vice-president of the United States, Mr Al Gore, in promoting an understanding of climate change issues and moulding international policy. Sir David King is also a co-author of the book
