Students are particularly welcome and are encouraged to attend. The event is open to all who are interested to attend and who have registered (click
here for the programme). We have a maximum capacity of 200 people. The event will include:
a) Symposium of Earth Systems: Theme: Planet Earth: A Special Place at a Special Time (including tea and lunch).
b) ACCESS Launch dinner at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
c) A parallel and follow on
technical workshops (23-25 August) on the Southern Oceans Seasonal - Carbon Cycle and Climate and Seasonal and Inter-annual Climate Variability (by specific invitation).
There will be no charge for the event. Participants are requested to fund their own travel and accommodation costs. Limited funds are available to assist where necessary (please contact Dr Neville Sweijd,
nsweijd@csir.co.za). Transport will be provided to the Dinner which will be open to those attending the symposium (along with invited guests).
