Myself and my partner , Michael Markovina have spent the past two years, driving a vehicle from Cape Town to Japan, and then back. We did so to look for people and projects that were working in today's marine environment trying to make a difference in their situations.
Our aim was to look for people from across 42 countries over 24 months, our journey was long as we lived out of our land cruiser moving across different continents and encountering many different cultures and environments, but we were on a mission to find the people that believed that it is possible to create a change in the disasters that plague our marine environment. We have looked at projects from all different walks of life and under so many difference circumstances, such as a one man in Benin who is single handily trying to get his countrymen to make a change in their fishing habits, to a small group of students who have become china's second registered NGO with relation to the marine environment a feat that took them 9 years to complete.
We will be having our return function on the 23rd October, in Cape Town at the African Pride Hotel 15 on Orange where we will be exhibiting photography and write ups on the places we looked at and the projects we came across. There will also be the release of the video promo for the final documentary as well as exerts of video clips from various countries and projects.
As it is an open function we would like to invite anyone who is in the area or who would be interested to attend.
We look forward to shareing this evening with you
