SOLAS Open Science Conference, 16-19 Nov

The Surface Ocean - Lower Atmosphere Study (SOLAS) is an international project investigating the interactions between the atmosphere and ocean, focusing on biogeochemical exchanges that affect atmospheric composition, marine productivity and climate. This latest SOLAS Open Science Conference 2009 will bring together over 300 scientists to share knowledge and develop future research directions and collaborations.

The conference will be held during, 16 - 19 November 2009 in Barcelona, Spain

Schedule

The programme consists of plenary lectures divided into eight themes:

* Long-lived gases and ocean acidification
* Advances in gas-exchange parametrisation
* Surface ocean lower atmosphere interactions in the past
* Aerosols over the ocean
* Advanced techniques for SOLAS
* Ozone and halogens over the ocean
* Nutrient limitation and atmospheric deposition
* Genomic and genetic studies of ocean-atmosphere exchanges

These are followed by discussion sessions and poster sessions.
