The Seabird Division of BirdLife South Africa would like to invite you to two sets of events for the Save Our Seabirds Festival, 10-16 October 2011 in Cape Town.
Marine Conservation Lecture Series
BirdLife South Africa and the Iziko Museum are hosting a series of three evening lectures which will be held at the Iziko Museum at 18:30 for 19:00 during the week of the Festival. The lectures will be held in the same exhibition hall as the top 50 photographs from the “Oceans of Life” photographic competition, which is also a part of the Festival. The lectures are free but booking is essential as space is limited. Refreshments will be served.

Robben Island Birding trips
We will be organising birding trips to Robben Island. The main aim of these trips is to see the Chukar partridges and the only officially listed feral population of peacocks in South Africa but this is also an opportunity to see many other species on and around the island. The trips will leave from the Robben Island Gateway at the V&A Museum at 9am on 15 and 16 October 2011.
